Privacy Policy

1. The short version

You can take the short practice test without an account. If you request a detailed report, we store the email you provide with that report. An account lets you save results and buy an access pass. Optional prep emails require a separate request and confirmation. We never sell your data.

2. Information we collect

• Free practice test: your answers and timing, with a browser identifier used to enforce the free-test allowance. Tests started while signed in are linked to your account. If you unlock a report, we store your email with that attempt to send its link.
• Optional prep emails: if this option is available and you select it, we record your request, email confirmation, delivery status, and any unsubscribe or purchase that stops the sequence. Two follow-ups are scheduled after confirmation. These records and prepared messages are scheduled for removal after 90 days, or earlier when the originating report is removed.
• Account info: email, name, and a securely hashed password if you sign up for an access pass; how you found us (e.g. UTM/referral source) is recorded once at sign-up.
• Payments: handled entirely by Stripe on their hosted checkout page. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded (and your email, for account activation) — never your card number.
• Question feedback:if you use "Report issue" on a question, we store the reason you selected, your optional comment, and — if you're signed in — your account, so we can review and improve the question.
• Test and simulation results: your answers, score, and timing for the full simulation and practice bank are tied to your account so you can see your report and progress.

3. Analytics

We use product analytics (PostHog) to understand aggregate usage — things like how many people start the free test, complete it, or click through to pricing. It's configured to limit what it collects:

• Page views and a limited set of product events (e.g. "test started" and "test completed") are recorded. Automatic click capture is disabled.
• Session recording is disabled entirely.
• We never send question content, answer content, or explanations to analytics.
• Before sign-in, a temporary identifier in browser tab storage connects events within that tab. After sign-in, that journey can be linked to your account identifier.
• If you're signed in, some events (e.g. starting a simulation, completing checkout) are linked to your account identifier so we can measure the paid funnel and debug issues — these are not anonymous.

We do not send email addresses, passwords, or email preference tokens to analytics. Prep email return links use a campaign and message-stage label to measure return visits and purchases; email preference pages load no analytics scripts.

PostHog is hosted in the United States. Sending analytics events there is an international transfer of personal data for users located outside the US.

4. Cookies and browser storage

We use operational cookies for sign-in, the free-test allowance, and short-lived authentication and attribution handoffs. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Browser tab storage keeps temporary analytics and referral information. Where email prefill is enabled, your report email can fill the signup form in the same tab for up to 30 minutes; it is cleared after sign-in and is not used for prefill once expired. Closing the tab clears this storage.

5. Who we share data with

We share data only with the processors needed to run the service: Stripe (payments), Resend (delivery of requested emails), and PostHog (product analytics, described above — US-hosted). We don't sell your data or share it for advertising.

6. Your choices

Prep emails are optional. You can stop them using the unsubscribe link in a prep email, including when the sequence is paused. Buying an access pass stops the remaining purchase reminders. Unsubscribing does not affect your account or report access. Account deletion also removes prep email records associated with that account email.

If you have an account, you can export a copy of your data or delete your account and its associated personal data at any time from your account page. You can also email support@aptitudesprint.com if you'd rather we handle it for you. Some records (e.g. payment records required for tax/accounting) may be retained after deletion where the law requires it.

7. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and change the effective date above.
